I keep wondering why people are so naive that they think we can "talk" our way out of this situation. The people who have targetted us are not interested in talking. If the Taliban are willing to subjugate half their population (women) and treat them like they aren't human, why does anyone think we could convince them Americans are human? They hate that we have freedom of speech, equal rights for women, and just about everything that has to do with a democratic society. |

Posted At 00:53:01 10/02/2001 I totally agree with you. It is not only naive, but very short-sighted...how can they even imagine we could negotiate people who hate the very principles we live by? I have always said that as long as societies treat half their own population (women) as less than farm animals, we cannot expect them to treat us as humans. |

Posted At 02:19:06 10/30/2001 I also totally agree with you. How I feel for the way they treat the women over there. They are absolute animals. They have certainly been brainwashed or something, I just cannot come to terms of how these people act. |
